Local business growth leads to new appointments

A focus on recruitment and growth has led to several new appointments..

A focus on recruitment and growth has led to several new appointments at Diamond Electronics in Smallwood over the past twelve months. Among the new employees are Matthew Spencer, Rebecca Williams and Jenny Hayworth, who have joined the company’s trainee scheme and Hannah Millican, Marketing Coordinator.

The company, currently employing 45 staff, achieved record breaking sales in 2010 and continues to grow and expand during 2011. “With the business enjoying major growth there is an increasing need to continue to attract the best new staff to help take Diamond Electronics forward” commented Darren Hesketh, Managing Director. “As a company we work closely with a number of local organisations who help us in recruitment, training and development, such as KISS, East Cheshire Chamber and South Cheshire careers academy. Working with these training and recruitment partners ensures that we continue to attract the brightest and the best employees, which has a positive effect on company performance in the long run.” 

“All the new employees will spend time in each area within the company (sales and marketing, stores, accounts and purchasing) to help them gain an understanding of the company and help them in their future role” commented Darren. 

Diamond Electronics also invest in training courses for new members of staff, with qualifications offered in marketing, stores management, basic electronics and business studies.

Diamond Electronics’ Board of Directors have all benefited from the training and career development opportunities made available through working with the company. “We sincerely hope our new starters are able to do the same so they to can have last lasting careers and success with the company.” Peter Hall completes 25 years service this year, Darren Spencer, 23 years, and Damien Hesketh, 20 years.

Darren Hesketh was recently awarded the East Cheshire Chamber Business Person of the Year in recognition of his 30-year commitment to the business and his strong support of the community. The company has also previously been recognised for their commitment to training by East Cheshire Chamber.
