Thirty years working within the business, an unwavering commitment to employees and strong support of the local community have led to the coveted East Cheshire Chamber Business Person of the Year award win for Darren Hesketh, Managing Director of Diamond Electronics.
Darren, a well known and popular member of the local business community, was recognised particularly for his strong leadership of Diamond Electronics during recent recession years, the results of which saw Diamond Electronics achieved its strongest trading figures to date in 2010 with a turnover increase of 42% since the darkest days of the recession in 2009.
Much of Darren’s spare time is given each month on a voluntary basis to support community initiatives; he is a founder member of the Congleton KISS group (Knowledge, Information Sharing and Support), was a judge in the Young Enterprise competition last year and sits on the board of the South Cheshire Careers Academy
“It's fantastic to be recognised by the Chamber in this way” commented Darren “and I’m delighted to receive the award, which I am proud to accept on behalf of the team who have been hugely involved and supportive in making 2010 such a successful year.”
Diamond Electronics employs 43 staff most of whom live locally. The business specialises in the supply of electronic components, human machine interface components and procurement management services to original equipment manufacturers and contract electronic manufacturers in both the UK and Europe.
